  • Unofficial sources indicate global debut at the October 2012′s Paris Motor Show.
  • Sales to start by June 2013.
  • Golf hybrid by end-2013.
  • 1.4 TSI engine to feature active cylinder deactivation.

In a previous post, AutoCar UK did a take on how the next generation Golf Mk VII will look like. Now, German magazine AutoBild has also pulled together a their own rendered image for the Golf Mk 7, presumably via the usual “unofficial channels.” AutoBild’s rendering are quite accurate, probably the most accurate amongst all European publications. Their rendering for the then-yet-to-be-launched F30 BMW 3-series was absolutely spot-on!

According to AutoBild, the Mk 7 Golf will debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show (Sept-27 2012 to Oct-14), with sales to start by June 2013, where VW will also expected to unveil the estate Golf Variant. All petrol and diesel engines will comply with EU6 emission standards. The Golf GTI will receive 10 hp power hike. The 1.4-liter twincharged TSI will get active cylinder deactivation, which shuts down certain cylinders during low speed to improve fuel economy. A full hybrid version of the Golf will also debut by end-2013.
